The Ice Age isn't what it used to be: Saber-toothed tiger Diego is going through a deep mid-life crisis, and mammoth couple Ellie and Manny are expecting offspring. Sloth Sid feels lonely amid all the baby commotion and longs for a family of his own. Fate is kind to him, because when he accidentally breaks through the ice, he finds three abandoned dinosaur eggs and takes them in. But the Tyrannosaurus Rex mother of the soon-to-hatch dinosaur babies is anything but happy about it and drags the unwelcome "mom" Sid and the offspring into the jungle world beneath the ice, where dinosaurs survived extinction. Of course, nothing stops the friends from helping Sid: Manny, Ellie, Diego, and the two over-the-top opossums Crash and Eddie immediately set off into the adventurous world of dinosaurs. The one-eyed weasel Buck, who is on his own personal revenge mission, stands by them as a dubious helper...
